I’ve Been Under the WX…

…for the last two days or so with a dental issue, which is scheduled to be resolved today. That means I’ll have one less tooth in this ol’ head when we’re done. I’m more than willing to make the trade-off at this point, the trade being one very painful tooth for some blessed relief. Blogging will continue to be light for a while until I get back up to speed.

Thank God for Aleve. That’s some great good stuff, Gentle Reader.

  6. Thanks, all y'all...for your expressions of kindness and concern. Much appreciated!

Well. I got back from the dentist and Cannon Airplane Patch about 20 minutes ago. I was at the dentist's for about an hour (my appointment was at 1300), give or take a few minutes. And it was such a nice day outside I decided to come home and trade off the Green Hornet for Miss Zukiko for my trip out to the base pharmacy, seeing as how the anesthetic hadn't worn out and all that. Dr. Thompson wrote me scripts for an antibiotic (I have a pretty good infection going on) and for Tylenol-3...for obvious reasons. I fill prescriptions out at the base, for what should again be obvious reasons: drugs are free due to contractual obligations between Your United States Air Force and YrHmblScrb (well, strike THAT. The drugs aren't exactly FREE... I paid for 'em, in a manner of speaking, with 22 years of indentured servitude).

I sat waiting for my two prescriptions to be filled for an hour and 15 minutes... or until the anesthetic had well and truly worn off. This, as you might imagine, distressed me more than a little bit. Add in the fact that it took the Base Pharmacy half again as much time to put 42 pills into two bottles, print two labels, and make the requisite entries into a computer than it took Dr. Thompson to anesthetize me and pull that frickin' tooth... and, well. Anger happens. I think it was justifiable anger, too. YMMV. But Hey! Free drugs. I shouldn't complain.

All's well that ends well, tho. The diseased tooth is gone, I'm not in all that much pain, and I got a moto ride in. Not a horrible day, all things considered. I might be back up to normal speed tomorrow.

  7. Take it easy on yourself Buck. Do all those things you know you should - drink fluids and rest. And try to stay away from those you know you shouldn't - like ambling tours on Miss Z...

  8. Hey Buck, glad the dental work is done and you can get feeling better. Pain sucks! I never ever ever take pain meds ... however ... last week in NM I had so much back pain I took an Aleve before spending Monday in airports and on board planes. WOW! It worked!!! Are you still on the Tyl-3s or has the pain subsided so you can cut back? Take it easy till you feel better.

  9. Hey Buck, great "toothache" graphic! Where'd/how'd you find that?

Feel better soon. Enjoy the Tylenol 3. ; )

Rest is no real problem, Kris. "Rest" could very well be my middle name, in all actuality. Avoiding Miss Z... who can be very insistent after more than two months of bad weather... is quite another story! We're supposed to get to 76 degrees today, and the wind is down.

That Aleve is good stuff, as I said. Sorry to hear bout your back pain, but glad to hear the Aleve fixed it. I never took a single T-3...the Aleve worked just fine. I'll save the T-3 for more serious stuff... like hangovers. ;-)

Lori sez: Hey Buck, great "toothache" graphic! Where'd/how'd you find that?

Just googled (images) "toothache"... and there it was... second results page, I think. As for the T-3, see above. ;-)

  11. It was a beautiful day yesterday. Glad Miss Z got a ride out of it. Will you venture out again today or is it a touch too windy? Next few days look very good as well.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
