I Did It...

I pick it up Thursday or Friday, depending upon when the money is transferred from my 401k into my working account.

In blue.

Oh, BOY!!

  1. Very cool bike! I can say that lots easier when it is not a close family member driving off on one. I can't wait to show it to Toby.

  2. Pretty cool, Mr. Buck. You got one with brakes and everything ;). The wee Strom was my second choice. I have read a bunch of good things about them. Maybe we can meet in Paducah or Quitaque.

  4. This reminds me when I met a woman at a PGR mission. She was driving a very sexy Yamaha Super Sport Touring model. Almost convinced me to get one. Looked almost like a scooter, but her hubby on a Harley said she could blow right by him if she wanted. :) She did home health care and drove around 3 counties in the St. Lawrence region, and what she saves in gas driving that in our short summer more than pays for the bike.

  5. "She was driving a very sexy Yamaha Super Sport Touring model."

That sentence almost makes me want my own bike.

  6. Wow, guys! All y'all sound almost as excited as I am! I apologize for letting these comments sit unattended for so long, but the blog took a hit on my priority list until this morning. Lots to do when you're returning to two wheels...

Toby: A road trip to Paducah or Quitaque sounds like the perfect thing for breaking in a new ride. Let me take delivery and put a few miles on it, then we'll talk timing. I assume Lou will be on the back of the Kwacker? :-)

Lori: We'll always be able to find something we agree on, right?

Laurie: Oh, Dear! One doesn't drive a bike, one rides!!
    :-) <=== big ol' grin

But, that said, you'd look good on one of these! Then again, your friend must be a pretty skilled rider, coz these bikes (anything in the Super Sport line) certainly aren't for beginners. They're not very comfortable, either.

And Lou...my daughter-in-law is actively bike shopping, as we speak. You'd look good on one, too! And they are SO much fun!

  7. Maybe I had the model wrong. It was more like this.

Less intimidating looking, but from what they told me, the looks of it are deceiving.

  8. Laurie sez: Maybe I had the model wrong. It was more like this.

Argggh. That's not a bike, it's a flippin' scooter. And with all due respect to your PGR friend's husband, that must be one sick Harley if that scooter, ANY scooter, can out run him. I'd never admit to being outrun by a scooter. Unless I happened to be sleeping with the scooter rider, of course.

Parochialism and blatant bias/predjudice rears its ugly head... I have a VERY active dislike for scooters. I think they're dangerous, mainly because they're inherently unstable. Cute, but dangerous.

  9. LOL! Okay, maybe I'm going to just have to see this person again in order to make sure I absolutely have the right model. 395cc doesn't quite sound right.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
