Get Some!

From the Usual USAF Source...

Here's a link to the photo above.  And then there's this:

Apropos o' not much... those F-22s are SN1's jets, assuming the maintenance guys own the jets and let the pilots fly 'em.  That's the way it works.

  1. The crew chief owns the jet, he or she tolerates other maintenance types working on "their" jet. The pilot is a beloved, yet clumsy, individual who is trusted to bring the bird back, preferably in one piece.

At least that's what it was like back in the day. (No comments about Spads or triplanes please.)

  2. So those bombs are being dropped by pilots under the command of your son? That is too freakin' cool!

BTW, Buck, don't think I've ever said this, thank you for raising to two fine sons who serve in the military and enable me to sleep peacefully at night.

  3. @ Chris: Triplanes? SPADs? C'mon... you KNOW these airframes...

@ Small Tee: Buck (SN1) commands the maintainers, not the pilots. Sorry for the confusion and thank you for the kind words.

  4. Still freakin' cool...

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
