Today's Happy Hour Soundtrack

Happy Hour isn't happy today, thinkin' as we are about the pain in one of our blog-buds' life at the moment.  This is for Skip...

Got up this mornin', just about the break of day
A-huggin' the pillow where she used to lay
Got up this mornin', just about the break of day
A-huggin' the pillow where my good gal used to lay
I don't believe there's a pain in this life worse than losing the one you love, especially if she's your wife and life partner.  If you haven't already done so, please stop by Skip's blog and give him your condolences.  Life is hard right now.

  1. That is tough news. Skip's hometown--Anderson, CA and I go way back, it is a very small town and I am very familiar with a resident who lives on Hawthorne Road... Pass along my regards to Skip, I hope he finds strength in the memories.

    1. You've piqued my curiosity because I'm pretty sure I know which Hawthorne Ave resident you mean.
      'nuff said.

Thank you for the kind words and know the memories will carry me a long way.

    2. On the corner, across the street from the stop-and-rob. Youngest is a former spouse, who is now a real estate agent.

  2. Thanks for the love, Buck.
I will feel better when the guilt about being relieved that she is at peace disappears.
What's hard is thinking about the things we were going to do that we never got around to doing.
    This, too, shall pass.

    1. I hear you loud and clear, Skip. I think I understand the guilt you feel but consider the fact most of the people who commented at your place mentioned that she's at peace now. That's a big thing. I also hear ya about the "unfinished business." I have a simialr list, believe it or not.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
