What I SHOULD Be Doin' Today

The Thunderbirds are flying... hopefully... out at Cannon Airplane Patch today.  Here's some great historical footage on the 'Birds:

I won't be there today, nor was I there yesterday.  The weather just isn't cooperating, to wit:
Nowcast | as of 1:05 PM MDT on May 25, 2014

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop over eastern New Mexico through the mid afternoon hours. Storms will favor Quay and Curry counties though 3 PM...though additional storms may develop along an outflow boundary stretching as far west as Fort Sumner and Roswell. Brief heavy rain...pea size hail and wind gusts to 45 mph can be expected...though a few storms may become severe later this afternoon. Areas likely to be affected through 3 PM include Nara Visa...Logan...San Jon...and Broadview.
More's the pity.  I have reasons other than the weather for not attending, but let's not go THERE.

  1. Nothing like a little hail damage to mess-up the make-up of the "Black Virgin," eh BucK? :)

    1. Pea size hail wouldn't hurt The Tart (much) but it sure would mess with ME.

  2. Rats. The Thunderbirds and Blue Angels are pretty darn impressive.

  3. The Blues put on a great show in Annapolis LSAT week.

Got to watch practice day and show day. Can't beat it.

Flyover at Graduation was at exactly 10:04 as advertised.

  4. You worry me with that last comment. A generalized prayer is said.

  5. Thank you all for your thoughts. I didn't mean to scare anyone with my "other reasons" comment -- I'm OK.

    1. I don't know Buck, a man who smokes 3 packs of Swisher Sweets a day and drinks half a case of coors before noon cannot by any definition be called, OK. :)

Our airshow was canxed last year by the sequester and there was little to be seen at the nearest one this year. In a couple of years they'll be trucking them in.

    2. I suppose the equivalent would be three GOOD beers and one real cigar, eh?

  6. It was a cool and rainy day Sunday when we went. But the sun finally showed up and the Thunderbirds were able to fly. It was a great day all around! Sorry you missed it but it was VERY crowded. Took us over an hour to get out of the parking lot. All the personal were so friendly. And at least one of my daughters may want to join.

Ah... Mission Accomplished! One o' the 'Birds raison d'êtres is serving as a recruiting tool. It's really hard NOT to be all jazzed up after their performance, isn't it? It sounds like you had a good time, Jenny.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
