Saturday: In My Next Life...

... I wanna be Jay Leno.

Didja see that green '61 Bel Air hardtop?  Among other things...

  1. Ohhhh yeah.....

One of the mixed blessings about being online a lot is that I'm seeing television (on utube) for the first time in years. Jay Leno's Garage has gotten me lost for hours on end.

BTW, another vehicle featured in this potpourri is the Doble Steam Car (look it up,) created by an uncle of my chiropractor, no less. Pretty cool.

  2. A guy I know works at OSU and one of his duties is arrange talent for the Mom's Weekend events. He got Jay to come and emcee and do some stand-up comedy. Jay did NOT want a limo but instead said "just pick me up at the airport." Afterwards, he said "I'm hungry can you take me somewhere to get some dinner?" and my friend kind of hesitated, not knowing if there was an eatery "worthy" of Jay in our silly little town. Jay says "Does Corvallis have an Arby's? I'm in the mood for some Arby's." So he drove Jay to Arby's. Jay says "let me order, OK?" and he places his order over the intercom thingy, and tells the girl inside "people say I sound just like Jay Leno. What do you think?" The girl said "Well, kinda" and then she just about crapped herself when she saw it was really him.

Of course, I have never met him but he does seem to be just as real and cool as he appears. And he just got a new McLaren P1 the other day. [/jealous]

    1. That's a very cool story, Inno. I don't believe I've ever heard a bad word about Leno.

  3. Yep, he IS a car guy! Met him at Cops for Tots in LA back in the late 90's he spent an hour with us. And that bubbletop is a beaut! He wanted to buy the 62 Impala SS one of our guys brought, but he was told no deal! :-)

    1. I'd really like to meet the guy, too, but the chances of him and me bein' in the same place at the same time are pretty danged small.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
