From the Usual USAF Source...
We have a few of these out at Cannon Airplane Patch. I dunno why, but these things always give me the creeps when I see 'em buzzing around.
Speaking of Cannon... The big airshow is coming this weekend, mebbe. And why do I say "mebbe?" The weather.
None of us here on The High Plains o' New Mexico complain about rain. Never, ever. That said, the timing could be a wee bit better.

We're lookin' at a "chance of..." today, then the afterburners kick in as we head to just under triple digits.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be near triple digits today.
DeleteThey'll still probably do a 'low' show...
ReplyDeleteYou're prolly right. I've seen the low show before and it's a bit underwhelming.
DeleteI never worry about them and I don't even worry all that much about their vaunted deadliness.
ReplyDeleteI know where they live.
I know where the families of those who fly them, live.
We're engaged in a global war against muslims and muslims are everywhere. It only takes one Major Hassan to fubar your life beyond all recognition. Do I think the USAF is providing any meaningful security at all to the pilots, their significant others, their children their people?
And I'm sad to say, even if the USAF did utterly fail to meet expectations and provide real actual security, I dare say it will be to the "pilots" and not to the analyst and imagery crew and their families. First the USAF guards their scary planes, then their less scary planes, the non scary planes, the base commander's office.
You know? Families don't even make the list.
They treat family security the way civilian police forces treat security of 3rd worlders.
Sorry, bad day. I'lll do better later.
There's one thing, though. RPA pilot names and/or other identifying info are not ever released.
