Today's Happy Hour Soundtrack... and Clutter

More hippie music from Former Happy Days...

Must be because I had the flu for Christmas
And I'm not feeling up to par
It increases my paranoia
Like looking into a mirror and seeing a police car
But I'm not giving in an inch to fear
Cos I promised myself this year
I feel like I owe it to someone
When I finally get myself together
I'm gonna get down in that sunny summer weather
I'm going to find a space inside to laugh
Separate the wheat from the chaff
Well, it ain't exactly "sunny summer weather" but it was sweet enough... and sunny enough... for an outdoor Happy Hour today.  I'm thinkin' we're semi-blessed in that the polar vortex made the briefest o' brief appearances.  Back to life as we know it, which includes space to laugh.

In other news... we went about reclaiming some counter space today, in that we finally bundled up all those old love letters that were taking up space and put them away.  And they did take up some space, which is to say three gallon-sized baggies worth:

That was then, this is now:

You'll note that we still have some work to do, what with that stack o' old correspondence sitting on the right hand side o' the counter.  But: baby steps!

The next project is to do the same sorta thing to my desk...

I really have trouble understanding how clutter seems to accumulate all by itself.  Mebbe things would be better if I had a maid.

  1. Maids work well when they're in total understanding of what it us we hope to accomplish.

    1. I had good luck with Molly Maids after the maid who was with me for 23 years quit. I had MM come in once a week when I was working and they did a good job. That said, the one that quit understood me fairly well.

  2. If you had a maid "tidy up" you would never find anything - although I'm sort of assuming that you can now.

It depends, Brian. I find most everything fairly well, unless it's something I haven't seen or used in a couple o' years. I'm still finding stuff from my move two years ago.

  3. I think the photo of the scantily clad woman on the screen, and your teeth on the table, kind of give the room a certain ambiance.

If a woman has flashbacks, is it a déjà vue, or is it still a déjà vu ? Enquiring minds and all...

That's a souvenir from my Adventures In Modern Dentistry... a prosthesis I was given after surgery (and while awaiting my implants) but never, ever used. It makes a nice paperweight, dontcha think?

As for your question, I think it's déjà vu in both cases. But I could be wrong... it's been known to happen, albeit rarely. :-)

  4. My aunt, at the time, bought me that album for Christmas when I was @ 10 or so. I had no idea who they were but fell in love with them upon hearing it. I believe I still have it somewhere.

Every once in a great while I'll just start singing "Almost cut my hair". Considering my hair is high & tight short it's merely ironic but hey, great music never dies.

    The memories...

    1. I still have my original copy of "Déjà vu" but it's in SN2's custody. A fine, fine album. Like you say: the memories!

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
