Ooooh... That's Gonna Leave a Mark

A screen cap from the Usual Hockey Source:

"AftonBladet" is a Swedish newspaper... and they follow the Wings' fortunes quite closely, given all the Swedes on the team.  So there's that.  But, yeah, last night was yet another heart-breaker: a home loss in the shootout skills competition.  And that was after the Wings blew a 3-1 lead.  We're edging closer and closer to panic; I may need sumthin' stronger than egg nog and whiskey to make it through tonight's game on The Island.

It's bad at the moment but we're nowhere close to the Dead Things era.  The Wings only managed 40 points (out of a possible 160) on the first full season I became a Wings fan... that was back in 1985-86... and finished dead last in the Norris division.  I KNOW Dead Things when I see 'em and we ain't there.  Yet.

  1. I hear absolutely nothing from either my brothers in law nor any of the nephews.
That shows how glum things are.
    They won't even talk Sharks.
Of course they are also all big fans of the UofM.
So that may come into play.

That's coz there's absolutely nuthin' to talk about, other than doom and gloom. Hard times in the Land O' Plenty. I keep hopin' they'll turn this ship around but... :-(

    2. Yeah, my U-M friends have been strangely silent this fall. Their innate sense of their own superiority has taken a beating. Breaks my heart, it does. . .

  3. Well, they're at least collecting the single points for going OT. But I hate, hate, HATE the shootouts. You spend 65 minutes playing hockey, they decide the game by doing something else. It's like playing 12 innings of baseball, then switching to Home Run Derby. . .

      Yup, a terminally stoopid ideer.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
