I love the car... but the paint? What's with all the matte black cars these days? There's a trend that's gonna look incredibly stoopid in a year or two.
Back to the Camaro. I owned that guy's big brother back in the day... one of these:
That's a 1967 Chevelle SS396. Mine had the mid-range Big Block (they came in 325, 350, and 375 hp versions) and it was one of the best road cars I've ever owned; it's most certainly a car I wish I had back. Mine looked exactly like that; it's a color Chevy called "Tahoe Turquoise." She was beautiful, quick and fast.
Ah. Former Happy Days, Part One.
Want, also. Except I think musclecar rims should be no bigger than 17".
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Inno. I like 'em as close to stock as possible, but with minor improvements that make 'em run and handle better. My old Chevelle couldn't go around corners to save her ass. But that's the way things were back then...
DeleteToby's Camaro was a 74, but it had a spoiler in the front. I know, because I knocked it off. He did not get in half as much trouble with his Camaro as he got when he had his Roadrunner. His dad actually threatened to send him to the NM Military Institute. Not so cool in the early 70's.
ReplyDeleteHeh. Military school is NEVER cool. My parents threatened me in a like manner, in the '50s. Scared the shit outta me.
DeleteSweet! Camaro's have a soft spot in the olde bear heart. I inherited a 67 Camaro convertible from Mom in 1973. It was a rust bucket Michigan car but a I was king of the road!
ReplyDeleteIt was a rust bucket Michigan car...
DeleteYeah, it's HARD to find old cars in Michigan that are without advanced car-cancer. Go on, ask me how I know. ;-)
