  1. Very cool. Went to a party on a Royal Fleet Auxiliary where they played a game. The object was to get around the wardroom without setting foot on the floor - on account of the sharks. It looked like this.

  2. I like the art too, but I don't like to spell it.

  3. I'm a big fan of the stuff, too. Like Bag Blog, I have problems with the spelling. As a matter of fact, I'm not even certain I can pronounce it correctly.

    1. Firefox doesn't like the way I spelled it, but I know it's right coz I looked it up.

    2. As in the wiki, yours is the english spelling. In French it is Trompe-l'œil but hardly anyone uses latin keyboards anymore, so Trompe-l'oeil, trompe l'oeil will get you a pat on the head...

I think the best guide on 'oe' is how english say europe, the 'eu' sound. The 'il' is tricky, as in 'ill' it doesn't sound like it looks. I tell people to say Oy Veh (yiddish) as the 'oy' part is pretty close, and sometimes you can say oyuh if there's another vowel coming-up. P.S. me no native (disclaimer) but I've been to French Idaho :-)

    3. @ Christiane: Would that be Coeur d'Alene? ;-)

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
