Spiffy

We haven't done an "Art of Cigars" post in quite a while.  Well, that's been remedied by what came in today's mail... an exquisitely packaged box o' Camacho 11/18 maduros... like this:

The pics don't do the box justice... it's a beautiful piece o' work in a truncated pyramid shape, with nice ornamentation... specifically a large brass medallion on the box top and a smaller medallion on the face o' the box.

The interior o' the box is equally impressive, what with the foil label on faux black velvet.  Very nice.

Now it's out to the verandah to see if these things smoke and taste as good as they look.

Update, slightly later and before I hit the verandah:

I like this woman's style... and her smoking environment looks pretty danged pleasant, doesn't it?

  1. Those look nice! I've found that I really love the Macanudo "Cafe Crystal" cigar that comes in the glass tube. Absolutely fantastic. I gotta find a good cheap supply of those.

    2. Okay, I went back. I have now watched half of the video. Cigars are still a mystery to me. Why anyone would want to put that in their mouth is beyond me, but then smoking of any kind has always been yuck to me (thanks Mom and Dad for making me ride in an enclosed vehicle with you two puffing away). If there is some reason I should watch until the end of the video, let me know. In the meantime, my eyes just rolled back in my head.

    3. There is no similarity between cigarette smoking and cigar smoking, other than the fact both are burned and produce smoke. One is an addiction, the other a once-in-a-while thing (or, with me, a two or three times a day thing) indulged in for relaxation. Most cigars smokers don't inhale the smoke, either, which is VERY strong and aromatic, compared to cigarettes.

The only reason I thought you should watch the vid is the fact it's made by a woman who clearly enjoys cigars.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
