We would call this "more cigar art," but it's really not. Partagas opts for traditional packaging, which is still rather spiffy in my (not so) humble opinion. Like this:
There's a bit of a mystery here, as well. I found these thingies in the shipment, in addition to the cigars:
Those are four cubes... approximately three-quarters of an an inch per side... of what appears to be green granite, packed in an embroidered canvas bag. Exactly what I'm supposed to DO with them is what I'm wonderin'. The only thing I can think of is they're meant to be frozen and used in your drink in lieu o' ice. Or mebbe they're slingshot ammo.

I wonder if they have anything to do with the game of dominos?
ReplyDeleteI don't think so... there's no markings on the cubes other than the "1845" you see in the pic.
DeleteThat is very interesting.
ReplyDeleteAnd mysterious.
DeleteCurious. Your explanation sounds as logical as any I can imagine at the moment. Maybe you save them like Green Stamps and when you get enough they come to your place and build a humidor?
ReplyDeleteHeh. I'd like the humidor thing... and I may have already won!
DeleteYes, put them in the freezer. Then when it's time for Scotch, pull a couple out and put them in your drink. That way, the Scotch stays Scotch, and doesn't become Scotch and Water like it does with ice cubes.
ReplyDeleteYou know how I kinda-sorta knew that? SN2 gifted me with a half-dozen stainless steel "ice" cubes. I was familiar with the concept.
DeleteOoooo...free stuff!
ReplyDelete"Free." Heh. You don't KNOW, Kris. ;-)
DeleteI do believe that 1845 is the new Partagas cigar. Christiane nailed it....freeze them babies and toss them in some scotch. They work in whiskey too!
ReplyDeletePartagas puts "1845" on everything, but it might be an anniversary release.
