Yeah, Mr. Weather is promising a cool-down here, too. ("Mr. Weather" is a local hero, who I met as a teenager on my first radio job. Ralph Montgomery, and Larry Ryan ruled the school in the 70's, when KEEL was a pop station. Seriously...ALL of us hung on their every word...and they did make radio history in a few obscure ways). They got back together again after many years of taking different paths.
They are on KLKL every morning. Larry Ryan is the host of the show, and Mr. Weather is his extremely funny sidekick. Mr. Weather works at the Bossier Parish courthouse as a bailiff when he gets finished with his foolishness every week day morning. So...that comment really ran off the road, and cleaned out both the ditches. As to the heat...I don't care. I'm built for HOT. Let it do what it do...
I emailed Missus Cuz yesterday, telling her how we'd gone from the high 60s on Tuesday to 108 yesterday. Word is it will be really not today, hotter still tomorrow. Then on Monday the humidity is supposed to increase. Holy Crap!
As I told Chris: this is unusual for us. All y'all, OTOH, get triple digits for weeks on end in the Central Valley. Contrary to what you might think (NM does have that desert image), we're usually in the mid-80s to low 90s during the summer... with an occasional triple-digit day. This week has been weird... and uncomfortable.
I feel for ya where that humidity increase is concerned. Been there, got a LOT o' tee shirts.
This latest heat wave is so bad it's making national news; sorry to hear you're in the middle of it, IT. We got some good rain last evening and it ALMOST got chilly out on the verandah while the rain was comin' down.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I know. Kinda wished I'd have not hit the Publish button a few seconds later.
Crud...
Uh yeah, that's hot. (Not said like Paris Hilton!)
ReplyDeleteUnusual for this time o' year, too. It's gettin' old, fast.
