Today

Blog-Bud Ivan reminds us it's May Day.  I responded with...
Ah, May Day. It's just not as exciting as it used to be. (ed: click it)
Yes... the Good Ol' Days, when we knew what we were fighting and exactly who the enemy was.  These bastards left little doubt:

I kinda miss the sonsabitches.  Our commies today just ain't very good at it.

  1. I tend to think flowers and Maypoles when I think May Day. Commies are ...interesting.

  2. The old Commies told us they were Commies. The new Commies tell us that they care and it's "for the children".

The only good Communist is a dead Communist.

(Unfortunately, no Communists were harmed in the writing of this comment. More's the pity.)

  3. IIRC we actually made a Maypole w. all the ribbons and danced around it back in the mists of 3rd or 4th grade--but don't put a poly to me, the geezer memory ain't what it used to be...could be my fevered imagination..

PS: I was always pissed that my birth month was assoc with Communism, if even in a minor way...or maybe it's not so minor, come to think of it..
