Today's Happy Hour Soundtrack: Two Heros

John Lee Hooker and Van the Man:

It's about the third or fourth consecutive day o' beautiful weather here on The High Plains o' New Mexico and we have our windows and door open wide with John Lee on the stereo at a suitable volume... "suitable" meaning capable o' entertaining both me and the neighbors... but no one's home next door or even anywhere else in the complex, given that everyone's out earning a living.  Except me, coz MY living's already been earned.  Still and even.

But about our day...

You'll note we'll be in the 70s and 80s for the foreseeable future (just ignore Wednesday, mmm-kay?) and that's a great good thing, yanno?  We did this today to celebrate our continuing great weather:

That would be the first G&T o' the season.  Yum.

  1. Van Morison may be THE favorite artist of my wife, while boy does I luvs me some John Lee.. I last saw him live in Louisville in a fairly intiment setting (can't for the life of me remember the venue) in the mid to late 80s..he had a really tight band with him, mostly white guys, iirc.

    1. VM is TSMP's favorite, as well. Or was, I can't be sure these days. Van is also one of a handful of guys whose albums I'll buy without hearing a single tune on any new release... I KNOW he's gonna be good. As for John Lee... I saw him at the Boom Boom Room in SFO the year before he died and he was STILL kickin' ass. That was one of my better nights out, Virg.

  2. G&T - a sure sign that the weather is warming up. We ate outside on the patio last night. Toby asked me to dig out the short-sleeved shirts for work. I thought he said shorts. Such confusion.

    1. It WAS warming up, but not so much today. The forecast has been revised and it's cold and raining. The rain is good, but the cold? I could do with more than 34 degrees.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
