It's Always SUMTHIN'

You could call me bitchy today were I of the female persuasion.  But I'm male, so call me Grumpy.  Or Crotchety.  Or too late for breakfast.  Or sumthin' like that.  To begin with... I shouldn't have gone on about how nice our weather has been coz it got real shitty overnight, which is to say cold and dreary.  Here it is well after the noon hour and we haven't topped 40 degrees:

I don't hardly think we'll make 60 today, let alone 66.  Just for comparison's sake: we were well over 75 degrees at this time yesterday.  Ma Nature and me need to have a talk.

And then there's the post office.  I pay attention to the cigar inventory quite closely and take great pains to order my cigars in such a manner as to NEVER get caught short.  This practice presupposes that the freakin' post office will actually deliver my cigars on time and... wouldn't you know it... my latest shipment that the PO claims to have delivered this past Saturday has gone missing.  We're not in panic mode yet, given we still have eight sticks in the humidor.  That said, having to get all bundled up and make a trip down to the post office didn't do my attitude any good and neither did their response to my "where is it?" query... of COURSE they don't have a clue where my cigars are... but they'll call me if they find them.  Thanks, guys.

It's always SUMTHIN'.

  1. The PO is having difficulties all over.
My weekly issue of The Economist usually arrives on Saturday.
The most recent issue and the previous one both arrived yesterday.

    1. There are times when I really feel badly for the PO. And then there's yesterday. And today.

  2. It was pretty cold here. The good news is that it was wet too. It is suppose to continue today. I can live with it, but only because we are getting rain.

My friend Dawn ordered an iPod from Amazon. The mail-lady said she delivered it, but Dawn did not get it. What a mess. Eventually, the post office found it and got it delivered, but not without a lot of fretting on Dawn's part.

    1. It was supposed to rain here, too... but it didn't. Just cold and dreary, with more of the same today. I haven't heard anything from the PO today, but I sure do feel for Dawn.

  3. I feel your pain ont the weather and post office. It was nearly 60 here on Sunday; the part 2 days have been below 40 with quite the wind chill. As to the post office....GRRrRr.

  5. Roger that on the P.O., Buck. Our New Orleans branch is a black hole and the SoCal one not much better.. Once, just after Katrina in '06 when my wife was in Marina del Rey and I was in N. O. fighting FEMA, etc., I mailed a Valentine card that somehow "never arrived." Six mos later it showed up returned back at our N.O. address..

Thank God for small favors, right? LOL

    1. A small favor would be that missing shipment o' cigars. We're in dire straits here.
