They Still Got It

My heroes...

Hell, every Old Fart should appreciate this, if not for the music then simply for the fact that a bunch o' mid-sixties geezers... nearly 70, in Jagger's case... can still get up there and boogie.

If you're an old Stones fan there's also this:  Ain't it GOOD to see Mick Taylor playin' with 'em again?

    So what?

    1. So... could YOU bang on the drums for an entire concert at age 70? I know I couldn't. Hell, I'd get winded just walking across the stage at this point.

  2. Sorry, Buck, a rare disagreement on this one. They need to give it up.

To paraphrase some other old English band, “Hope I die before…I continue to try and do stuff that only younger people should be doing”.

    1. Heh. I'd thought about the Who in this space. I also recall Jagger sayin' something in an interview with Rolling Stone MANY years ago to the effect of "I don't want to be singin' 'Satisfaction' when I'm 60."

  3. Tim, I could not have said it better.

This is gonna really suck, Buck, seeing as I haven't left a comment in a coon's age.

    But...

I'm an old fart...but maybe not quite old enough to appreciate The Stones. Never cared for them, and never will. Keith Richards is the exception, seeing as his hero is James Burton (a local boy), and he's got other-worldly skilz on the guitar.

The very worst Super Bowl Halftime show in the history of the Mayan Calendar featured them (I looked at it on YouTube, because The NFL sucks, and I don't waste my valuable time looking at the NFL...at least we've got The Senior Bowl...which I can not look at because I don't have the NiFfLe Network, but there will be replays/highlights on The Four Letters).

What was I saying? Oh yeah, Complicare habetis scire potuimus.

Man! That comment really DID suck.

Translation, please? I googled that, came up with nuthin'. That said, we shall fall back on "taste is ALL in our mouths."

  4. Use Gooble Translate. "You have got to know when to fold 'em" is what I got.

But, don't quote me on that...

    1. I get "You know, we have been able to fold." YMMV, obviously.

  5. Well, I'm nearing 60 and here is what I did with a friend of mine. I did the keyboard, guitar, mixing, and drums. He sang. https://soundcloud.com/jim-nelson-5/riders-on-the-storm-j-j-cover

  7. I enjoy the music, but could pass on seeing Mick prancing around. I guess it is nice that he can still prance, but prance it is.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
