Seasonal

And awesome.

This is The President, the second largest tree on the planet and a poster of which (this same photo) was included in this month's issue of NatGeo.  Note the two climbers in the tree and the guy standing at the bottom.

I've been among the sequoias and I don't think there's anything else on earth with equal or greater capacity to make one feel very, very small.  Well, mebbe the Grand Canyon.  But that would be all.

  1. That the tree is a living thing makes it that much more impressive.
I've seen the Grand Canyon, too. It's just plain awesome.

    1. The fact the tree is supposedly 3,200 years old boggles the mind.

  2. Now THAT is what I would call one amazing tree!

  5. Such a great issue of NatGeo. Just beyond anything the mind can take in; and yes, even reading about them I felt very very small.

  6. I keep looking at this and still can't find the two climbers. I see one in the tree near the top, and one on the ground. Granted my eyes aren't as good as they used to be, but is the second climber also in red or some blend in color?

It is one magnificent tree, I hope it is still around many years from now. Awesome picture. Thanks!

    1. What I think is the second climber has a white jacket and yellowish pants, the pants looking almost like rain gear. Go to the second branch from the bottom on the left and look at about 1:00 from that second branch, on the right side of the tree, a man is standing right at the intersection of the main trunk and a smallish branch. Or is that snow?

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
