One of THOSE Days

It's not a nice day here on The High Plains o' New Mexico, and this is why:

The wind has actually moderated a bit in the last hour.  Our forecast called for wind gusts of up to 65 mph in the mid-morning hours and there's no doubt in my military mind we got there.  We're living under dust laden, dun-colored skies today (note the UV index: 2/16) and I shall NOT venture outdoors.

Update, 1430 hrs:  Two contrasting pics... today and a clear day, pretty much from the same angle.

Interesting, eh?

  1. It's a similar temp here in the state capitol, much cooler, with expectations of that white crap, at home.
See, there's an upside to everything ;-)

    1. I'd ALMOST trade this dust for snow. Snow's easier on the lungs.

  2. I was looking at it from The Tart's point of view...

...I'm thinking that the dust isn't all that good for the paint job!

    1. It's NOT. But it's better than salt.

    2. Good point. (And me being from the Northeast too!)

  3. It is times like these that I believe red clay is better than red sand. Pink snow would be interesting.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
