    Well, of course, Honest Abe was riffing on the words 'some' and 'all'; 'most' is just a heftier version of 'some'. . .

    But it don't make me feel any better. . .

    I saw a good 'toon years ago, in which a TV gofer was holding up an Honest Abe puppet behind a podium, with the caption, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, and that should be sufficient for most purposes. . ."

    The best mod to that statement that I've seen (I should lie and say I thought of it myself :) ) is that the election of Obama, Clinton, et al simply proves that all one has to do is "fool enough of the people enough of the time.."

    Sad to say, sure worked for them, didn't it? (I cry a lot these days--in between passing out..)
