Ah luves me some Leon. First album I ever purchased of his was 70s "Carny." And my favorite song on the album was "I'm goin' back to Tulsa" Strangely, I just checked, and very few of Leon's song are on You Tube (inclu 'Tulsa) and only a couple from the Carny alblum (Goin' Down, Tightrope and Stranger in a Strange Land) When alt indi rock bands that NO ONE has EVER heard of have EVERY SONG they EVER RECORDED on YouTube, is it somehow possible that Leon--one of the historically important figures in the blues scene-- is really only an "insider's" fave of "terminally hip" (lol) blues affectionados like us, Buck?

ReplyDeleteWho knows what evil lurks in the heart o' YouTube? Not me... "Goin' Down" is my favorite tune on Carny, btw. And Leon did the BEST "Delta Lady," evah.
DeleteI like Leon too. Now I will be boot-scootin' around the house all day.
