This Just In...

... "this" bein' me, recently arrived back home after a re-stock run out to the Cannon Airplane Patch Class VI store.  Where I saw this:

Any doubt as to which demographic the distiller is aiming for?  I kinda like the ideer of bare-nekkid when it comes to skinny girls... and booze, for that matter.  When it comes to wimmen I'm more into "women of substance," but ya know what them sailors say about "any port..."  Still and even, I didn't buy any of this stuff, nor am I likely to.  I mean... tangerine-flavored vodka?  Besides that, it's pretty hard to beat Stoli when it comes to wōd-kah.

We got a call on The Green Hornet today and I was pleased to hear the prospective buyer say he was looking at another Miata on Craig's List until they saw TGH, which they liked better.  I do believe there might be a reason for that.  I was kinda-sorta chagrined to hear the prospective buyer is looking for a car for his daughter.  I'll freely admit I was hopin' for a buyer who appreciates all the sporting aspects of the Miata... the sorts of things that have landed the car on Car & Driver's Ten Best list for the last 10 years or so... stuff like the buttery-smooth shifter, impeccable handling, communicative steering, yadda yadda.  But, Hey... girls can appreciate that stuff too, so I'll not be hasty to judge.

  1. Everyone drinks “Skinny Girl” liquor whether they know it or not, it’s just booze with less alcohol (60 proof I believe my eyes are reading correctly). Marketing, it’s all in how it’s presented.

I must admit though, Tangerine vodka does sound good.

Speaking of booze, in unrelated news, from Rachacha, Bro-in Law informs me he acquired some delicious Genesee 12 Horse Ale for another weekend at the lake. Which we, and many others, have long awaited it’s return (or rather re-return). Like I tell everyone who claims they love it, “Now buy some or they’ll discontinue it again”.

    C’mon Friday…

    1. Your eyes are correct. I don't drink skinny stuff, unless it's beer... which is clearly labeled as to alcohol content. All my hard stuff comes in 86 proof or above.

I never had any of that 12 Horse Ale while I was in Rachacha. Did they brew it back in the late '90s? You COULD send me a sixer, yanno? I've exhausted all the beer options locally (those that look good to me) and am itching to "broaden my horizons" again.

  2. I bought some iced tea vodka for a recipe I had seen in Southern Living. Nasty stuff.

  3. Yes, they did brew it in the late 90’s. Not sure when they stopped…early 2000’s I think.

I’ll work on the sixer for ya’. They just started coming back out with it, not even sure if it’s for sale to the general public. My Bro-in-Law works there (and gets at least two cases of free beer a month) so let me see what I can do but it’ll happen eventually. And yes, I’m serious, I’ll send it as soon as get my hands on some.

  4. Those marketing folks are real schemers, using frosted glass on the bottle, to make the stuff look cool, and using the word natural on the label, to make it appear healthy

    1. Well... vodka IS healthy. To a point...

  5. I'm not a big vodka drinker however a friend of mine recommend Fluffed Marshmallow Vodka. Sounds gross, I know. But mixed with Kahlua it makes a killer Black Russian. Or put into white hot chocolate - very fine indeed.

Skinny alcoholic drinks...are silly. It's like going into Starbucks and ordering a White Chocolate Mocha with Whipped Cream and then asking how many calories are in it. If you have to ask, it's probably too many for you.

    1. Agreed on the "silly." But on the Fluffed Marshmallow vodka? Not so much...

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
