Hot! And Not.

People on the Right Coast really must feel this way.  As for us here on The High Plains o' New Mexico... it's bid'niz as usual.  Our high/low of 90/68 yesterday was very slightly warmer than usual (89/63), but not a lot.

―:☺:―

I about fell outta my chair when I read this (from the Usual USAF Source)...
No Krasni Flag: Russia won't be participating in an Air Force Red Flag exercise this year, according to an exercise spokesman at Eielson AFB, Alaska. What? Russia at Red Flag? Several media outlets—including the Voice of Russia radio network's English-language website—ran stories last week suggesting Russia would indeed be sending fighters to a Red Flag exercise in October, either at Nellis AFB, Nev., or in Alaska. This would be an extraordinary first if true, and a watershed development in US-Russian relations. But, alas, no red-starred Flankers and Fulcrums will be populating the ramps at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Eielson, or anywhere else. Air Force officials told the Daily Report on July 6 that Russia had requested sending observers—not aircraft—to a Red Flag exercise this fall, but it won't be happening. While it would have been interesting to see those Sukhoi and MiG fighters at Red Flag—playing Red Air, perhaps?—modern Russian-designed fighters have already played in a Red Flag. In 2008, India brought its Su-30s MKI fighters to Nellis.

I wouldn't put it past the current administration. Look who's in charge.

    1. I think a few USAF generals would resign if it came to that.

  2. I hate the heat. I hate the humidity. Normally I only have to put up with it for 2-3 weeks out of the entire New England summer.

We are 4 weeks into the New England summer and it's been hot & humid for all of it. With the dog days of August still lying in wait for us.

Today is better - 81 degrees with relatively no humidity. It's supposed to be this way all week; I won't hold my breath.

It's combination of the two that gets me. Heat I can stand... up to a point.

  3. It would be a whole new ball game if the Russians showed up at Red Flag or Green Flag.
I concur with general officers resigning.
Very pleasant in North San Diego County right now!

  4. I don't have lots of sympathy (never did - just ask Toby) with folks who are experiencing a heat wave on the Right Coast. Once you experience a summer with triple digits for most of the summer and no rain whatsoever, you find anything less is not so bad. OK and TX have still not recovered.

    1. Lou, I don't disagree with you it's just that we here on the right coast don't get this kind of heat for such extended periods of time. So when it happens, it's just - horrible for us. I know - whoa is me and all that.

It seems I just got done complaining about winter! I think we only get two seasons now, cold with no snow, hot with no rain. I think an asteroid would be about par for the course.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
