Where Did Our Warm WX Go?

I'm gonna have to wear a sweatshirt for Happy Hour today...

... mainly coz my personal R-factor is VERY low, given that fat is a well-known insulator and I have a serious lack o' same.  (Is there TMI at the link?  I found it fascinating!)

In other WX-related news... we got a very small amount o' rain last evening, just about enough to wet the streets.  A friend o' mine was telling me yesterday that our TOTAL rainfall over the last 21 months is a mere two and a quarter inches (I'm quoting from memory).  She further explained the Mojave desert's average annual rainfall is around three inches, by comparison.  I haven't bothered to validate either metric, but they sound reasonable to me.  I DO know our lack o' rain has been the leading topic o' conversation in these parts for quite some time now.  "Pray for rain" ain't just an idle sayin' on The High Plains O' New Mexico.

  1. My R-factor is rather high, and not just because I am well insulated, but also because I am of an age - well, I'm one hot mama.

  2. Your warm weather (and humidity) must be in southeast Louisiana because our AC is working overtime! And I'm with Lou!

  3. I wouldn't say "TMI". I'd say "TMT" (Too Much Technical). I phased out after the first paragraph :-)

  4. The warms have come to NorCal and appear to be in place for awhile. I may soon have to crank up the swamp cooler.

    1. I already broke the seal on my AC... last month. We were in the high 90s for a few days.

    2. The A/C been on here, too. About a three weeks ago we had a couple of 90 degree days following some 55 degree days.
