This Is Just Wrong.

A Wings game at 1000 hrs on a Sunday?  Seriously now... I just now poured my first cup, really.  I also set my alarm phone for 0933 hrs this morning just to make SURE I didn't oversleep.  There's sumthin' terribly wrong about watching hockey and drinkin' coffee rather than beer.  But it is what it is... and what it is is a 2-1 series lead.  I can feel it comin'.

LGRW!

Update, 1300 hrs.:  I hate Pekka Rinne.  Hate, HATE, HATE the man.  He's a helluva goalie, though.  Preds 3, Wings 2.  Shots on goal: Wings 43, Preds 22.  Sometimes it bees that way... I think this one's gonna go seven.

  1. I hope your feeling's wrong. It's the end of the first period now and the Preds are up 1-0. Go Preds!

  2. The Preds played pretty well first period, but then the momentum seemed to shift big time. Thanks to the Deity at hand you sometimes refer to that we had Rinne. How many saves did he finally end up with?

    1. 41, by my count. I'm having serious flashbacks to 2003 when the Wings couldn't solve another hot goalie (Jiggy, aka J.S. Giguere) and went out in the first round to the Stinkin' Ducks as a result. And that was a year after we won the Cup, too.

  3. Yeah, I know what you mean, Buck. It's like when they start college football games at 1030. Sucks.

REAL college football should be played no earlier than noon (and, I don't even like that, other than the fact that it provides for more watchin' time on Sattidy), but preferably under the lights.

    In Tiger Stadium.

    1. Tiger Stadium, like in Dee-troit? They play football there?

  4. Naw...they play that game in the Dee-troit City Tiger Stadium that they quit when a couple of sprinkles fall out of the sky.

    1. That's the same game where the "athletes" go on the injured DL when they get a lil boo-boo, right? As opposed to guys who get five teeth knocked out, miss three shifts, and then come back and play the rest of the game, of course.

  5. YEP!

    That's the same game.

If Joe Bastardi says it might sprinkle, the chUMPS make everybody go run down in to their hole, so as to not get any of the fairies too wet to swing and miss.

Imma coming around to your love for ice hockey. I haven't actually watched much of it (any of it) for roughly 15 years. But, I do appreshunate the fact that REAL men play the game, and normally the refs will let 'em do it.

    I might look at it.

    Next season.

Of course, I said last season that I might look at it next season. But, y'all play it when grass needs to get mowed, and vegetable gardens need planted! Y'all need to change it over to Winter.

    1. You make at least ONE valid point. Or two, mebbe. Hockey season IS too long; the regular season is 82 games and that's about 22 games too many. I also think the first two rounds of the playoffs should be best-of-five, rather than seven. Let the conference finals and the SCF go seven; five games are enough for the first two rounds.

You mow yer lawn and plant yer garden at night? Wow!

    2. No, I do it at 10:30 in the morning.

  6. Has the potential to be one of the classics.
OTH, the LA Kings are on the verge of eliminating the President's Trophy winning Vancouver Canucks. Jonathon Quick stopped all 41 in a 1-0 Kings win to take a three to zero lead in the series!!!!!!!

    1. I watched the game, Glenn. Quick is VERY impressive.

  7. We use the DVR, so we can watch when it is convenient. That disallowed goal at the end of the second period was the game breaker.

    1. Yeah, but time had expired... by 0.2 seconds. Sucks.

  8. Meanwhile, I'm sweating bullets watching the B's. Great goaltending going on in that series. Two overtime games, one win, one loss (2 OT), and can't wait for tonight to see how many times Tim Thomas gets booed for having spoken his mind concerning his political beliefs :-)

    1. I might watch yer B's tonight, Jim. OTOH, the Rangers and Sens are playin' in the same time slot and that game MIGHT be more interesting, due to the friction involved. ;-)

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
