Heh

I like the flavor of this one...

Mainly coz it's where I happen to be at the moment.

―:☺:―

Structure... it's what's for breakfast.  And dinner.   Putting myself down in the middle of a functioning nuclear family has been good for me.  I've gone to bed at a decent hour (for me) for the last two nights and have arisen at the same sort of "decent," aka "normal" hour for two days straight now.  This feels pretty good.

Leavenworth is a pretty nice place from what little I've seen so far.  SN1's house sits at the top of a hill in a nice lil subdivision... and the view from the back deck is great.  I'm sitting on the deck composing this post as we speak and I'm still amazed at all the greenery and rolling hills within my view every time I look up from my screen.  This is quite the change after after the flat, dry, arid, and semi-desolate environment that is Portales.  Change is good.  Well, except for humidity.  But we won't go there at the moment coz the WX has been mild... so far.

Time for a re-fill.

Are you sure you mean structure? Or... Conformity?

    Only askin'

    1. Structure, definitely. I've made a career out of not conforming, so I know the difference.

  2. I'm with you on the dead elephant thang. The other two guys don't have a chance in hell now and yet they keep on hammerin' away. It's time, as you said yesterday, to get focused on the real enemy.

And on the subject of green, it's definitely good for the soul. This may be too far back for you young whippersnapper but for awhile in the '50s, I believe, advertisers of most everything were puttin' green chlorophyl in their products. Soap, toothpaste, chewing gum and mints (clorets), etc. They were right: GREEN is good!

    1. I remember the chlorophyll marketing stuff, Dan. I can't remember when it faded away, though... it was just gone, seemingly all of a sudden. But I suppose marketing is like that.

  3. Not sure I could live in a desert environment; I love the green of the woods and lawn and plantings.

They tell me I need to live in Arizona for my health - perhaps someday.

    1. The desert has its own beauty, Kris. It's a harsh sort of beauty, but beauty none the less.

  4. I've always been afraid to go to Leavenworth. Which is why I never used that stupid gubmint credit card on any of my travels. Sounds like you are doing ok, though...

    1. Yeah, the Leavenworth jokes abound, don't they? I'm gonna get a tour later on this week and I'll try to snap a pic of the disciplinary barracks... if permitted.

  5. We are pretty green this spring and it is a great and good thing. I've never been to KS, but I was surprised by the thought of a "hill".

    1. The area around here is FULL o' hills, Lou. Pretty interesting for a flat-lander like me.

  6. Yeah Buck, when we lived out West, we'd always get that startlingly green shock deal when we came home to LA.

Glad you're enjoying the visit. Stay a while. Come south, and visit us while you're out and about! Gorgeous Spring this year...greenest and wettest we've had in ages.

It IS a shock. But a good one.
