Catvertising - very funny video. You may have something there about the apocalypse, Buck. :-)
This internet cat phenomenon is interesting, isn't it? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB118798557326508182.html
As it happens, my youngest just finished taking part (as a musician) in LOLPERA, which is the first Lolcat opera - "an original absurdist opera--or fauxpera" based on the Lolcat website. The libretto is based solely on Lolcat picture captions. The company did a lot of work for very little financial gain but at least they're not identifying themselves as part of the 99% - they're actually in a world all their own. (It was really very well done. A lot of talent and thoughtful creativity involved.)
Give me a pug video anytime. Cats -- not a fan of them. LOLPERA? It has to be a sign of the impending apocalypse when someone is making money off of cats. Next thing the universities will be offering a B.F.A. -- bachelor of feline arts. Aack!
This has gotta be fake, right? I mean storyboarding, PURR, etc. Maybe I'm totally out of it. Still, I guess 25 million hits would provide a nice base for any kind of ad. And even though (like you) I prefer dogs, the cat vid does look like it was done by a pro. If it's for real, I agree that it's a sure sign of the apocalypse.
Is there such a thing as too much of a good thing?
Only where alcohol is concerned, Ivan.
Moogie: Amazing times, no? By that I mean... "Oh, and it's a phone, too!"
Bec: You always have the BEST links. I noticed that WSJ article is four years old... and the LOLcats site prolly has an order o' magnitude more traffic today. As for the LOLPERA... well... I guess. ;-)
Skip: There are wuss dogs, too.
Lou: It's a well-known fact dogs are smarter than some humans.

ReplyDeleteI've suspected the cat thing for quite some time now.
ReplyDeleteThe Pug vid is a hoot. We used to have pugs -- they're funny little dogs.
But I (usually) like my iPhone. It's not always so hot for using as a phone, but it's a darn good camera and computer!

Aand another sign.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that dog video proves anything about who is smarter. Both are funny videos though.
