We haven't said much about the weather o' late, mainly coz it's been rather fine with no extremes in any direction, and that would include wind. That said, we did set a record yesterday:
I'm pretty proud o' myself in that I didn't fire up the AC yesterday. Those sorts o' temperatures would have seen the AC running all day long were I still in ECMdP, no matter if the awning was down or not. The new, improved, and Inmóvil casa is oriented in such a manner that it never receives full sun on the front of the building (the long side) and the verandah shades what sun that does fall on the exterior. So... the combination of open windows, a shady exterior and ceiling fans made for a nice cool day. I like that.

I noticed sumthin' rather strange while in the shower this morning and it made me wonder... Why is it the hair on my head... including my beard... has gone completely white silver and the hair in other places is still as red as it was when I was 20? I'd illustrate the point but I wouldn't want my female readers to go into a swoon, nor would I want to induce feelings of anxiety or inadequacy in my gentleman readers. You'll just have to take my word for it.
But, seriously... why is that?

ReplyDeleteMaybe this? "Each hair on your body grows from its own individual hair follicle."

I not only have a mix of hair color but a mix of hair width and strength as well. It's starting to drive me nuts. But I discovered that if you have curly (frizzy) hair like I do then it's good to avoid sulfates in shampoo. I don't think that YOU have that problem, though, Buck. :)
Our weather has been lovely too. Maybe I should complain about the high temps for Oct, but after this summer, anything cooler is okay with me.
ReplyDeleteVW: heekeho - HeckifIknow on the second part of your post.
There was some rain (0.01 in.) around here somewhere yesterday, but all we had were scattered high clouds and 79°.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, Buck, you are in quite the intimate sharing mood today!
ReplyDeleteI was planning on discontinuing dyeing my hair next year to see just how gray I've gotten. Apparently the only gauge to my grayness will be topside? (not that I'll be sharing this info with anyone)
I don't know, but if the choice is going bald or grey, I think I'll choose grey.
ReplyDeleteI do have grey chest hairs, but nothing like the white/silver of my beard and head. Must be a circulation thing.
Funny thing I've noticed is when I get a grey hair on my chest it grows like crazy. I had one that was over 8 inches long, silver, and straight. Stuck out all the time. I lost it when I showed it to my wife and she just yanked it out and said - what hair?
Since then I've just kept them trimmed.
BTW, the lighter the hair color, the more air in the in hair. So blondes are truly air heads.
ReplyDeleteheh.
In theory if you were to run around naked all the time, then all hair would be the same color.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it could be that you used your head more than "other places" during your sexually active years.
...oops, that may be an old wives tail...
Well...um...this takes navel gazing to a whole new level.
ReplyDeleteYou and I both being (former) redheads, I was very glad to read the second half of your post. I was wondering about that very thing, just the other day, and I also wondered if I was particularly odd in still retaining some color downstairs while going blond/grey/white upstairs.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why it is, but I at least know I'm not some sort of freak.
Well, at least not some specific sort of freak.
Bec: That was a very interesting link(s) but I couldn't find a definitive answer to the question. More research is need, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteLou: I was premature in bragging on our WX yesterday... we had a "wind event" with 40+ mph gusts and frickin' dust all over and IN everythang.
Skip: You had better WX than we did.

There were some interesting stats on the percentage of women in the US who dye their hair at Bec's link, Red. I was amazed at how many of you gals practice the art o' deception!

Agreed. My hairline is receding somewhat but I still have about 90% of what I started with. Thank The Deity At Hand for THAT!

One could get arrested in these parts for testing that theory.
...this takes navel gazing to a whole new level.
It wasn't navel gazing; it was actually about two and a half inches lower.
Jim: I'm glad to be of service! ;-)
