I think the Tea party shot their wad, and to coin another phrase: their limpness is showing now.
Republicans have become so fractured, that even in a majority they can't rally their members on a veto-proof bill.
I am rather shocked, as I heard they had a killer bill in work since January. Then come to find out they had nothing to deliver.
The only way forward now, is to throw them all out. I ain't voting for any incumbent. If your name is Joe Smith, and you just got off the bus, you can run and I will vote for you.
There's a lot of people who think $178k is a lot of money, and will gladly go to Washington.
All your points are well-taken, Anon and Inno. I'm a little bit pissed at the Tea Partiers at the moment. Standing on principle is a good thing but not when it involves national suicide. We shall see what we see.
