The solstice occurs at 1716 hrs GMT today... which is 1016 hrs here on the beautiful High Plains of New Mexico... and that means summer is officially here. Yays! And all that. Today is also the longest day of the year in terms of available sunlight. It's all downhill after today in that particular space (heh. space... geddit?).

This is definitely one of my favorite days of the year. I look forward to it from the middle of December.
ReplyDeleteHappy what, now?
ReplyDeleteI was gonna ask of you stayed up all night to write the post, but your post kind of answered the question.
ReplyDeleteWe had our first instance of triple digits (and 14% humidity) yesterday. It's supposed to get hot today.
We actually got a little cooling rain!
ReplyDeleteAnd in the interest of full disclosure, it is supposed to be pretty nice here today, 76 degrees or something. Might not rain. But it is late June, and it has been monumentally lousy so far.
ReplyDeleteWe got a bit of rain yesterday afternoon and cooler weather today. It is only 98. The really good news is that the wind is not howling today. I hope it is good sign for the rest of the summer.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to it from the middle of December.
ReplyDeleteDividing the year by means of the two solstices, are we? ;-)
Andy: Your WX is a small price to pay for all that green that surrounds ya, yanno? Easy for me to say, I know.
Skip: We're in for a four-day run of triple digit temps beginning Friday. I can't wait. (/sarcasm)
Moogie: We only dream of rain here.
Lou: The wind has let up here as well. Nice, innit?
