I have a bimmer. 2009 328i. It gets around 25 mpg avg, 28-29 highway. It does take premium grade gas though. The 5 series I looked at require 93 octane.
It IS the ultimate driving machine though. Great handling, nice styling, really decent power and I don't have one of the juiced up models.
32 MPG is good if its for the turbo model, though I suspect its for the non-turbo. I wonder why they couldn't improve the mileage on the 3 series as well. It weighs less.
Speaking of cars, have I missed your decision on the Green Hornet?
I'm gonna keep her for a while, Dan. As a matter of fact, I made an appointment to have her 60K mile service done over in Lubbock in a couple o' weeks and bought $1K worth of parts (timing belt, new shocks, consumables) for that lil event. Maintaining cars ain't cheap, nor for the faint o' heart. I'll be working quite hard on my sales resistance between now and the time I go over to the Mazda store. One of those PRHTs would sure look good in my driveway... and I've been goin' on about 'em (and other mobile things) for over three years now.
Anon: I hear ya about Beemers and most specifically about the three series. I owned a 320i for over ten years and the only reason I got rid of it was it began to cost too much to maintain. I bought that thing while I was in Ol Blighty and picked it up in Munich. I'll rerun that post today... thanks for reminding me!
Now that's cool. I do like that "5" and its 32 mpg.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of cars, have I missed your decision on the Green Hornet? Seems to me you were thinking about selling/trading it for something new.
