As in: someone finally found the switch and turned that infernal wind machine OFF. We're just in from the day's errands and today is as pretty a day as we've seen in these parts in a month or at least it feels that way. Note:
It goes without sayin' that we WILL be taking today's Happy Hour outdoors on the verandah. And we've decided to kick off gin & tonic season in honor of this perfect day. Ain't this purty!
Our soundtrack today? Why... the Gin Blossoms, of course.
Now, if you'll excuse me, Gentle Reader, the Great Outdoors (heh) is calling.
I think you just shooed it this way and I'm hoping it doesn't last much longer.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your outdoor happy hour, I know I won't get to have one for a while yet; it's still a little too chilly for my liking.
Today started off cool and windy, but has gotten warmer. The wind has died down somewhat. The gin and tonci looks and sounds pretty good.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh. 65 sounds glorious to me -- our ACs are cranking away already.
ReplyDeleteHard to beat simple pleasures.
ReplyDeleteHave one for me.
Never had a Gin and tonic. I shall have to try it some day.
ReplyDeleteThe wind came screaming through Northern Cal last week, and man should you be glad you're not plagued with allergies. Boy, was I sick.
ReplyDeleteGood idea about the G&T. My own preference is Tanqueray, and my last-year's 1/2 gallon has finally disappeared from my freezer. Time to re-stock, if my newly-reduced Social Security check will allow it next month.
Cheers.
Deb: Your time is coming. And you'll prolly appreciate the summer MUCH more than I do.
ReplyDeleteLou: Our reprieve was brief; the ind is back up today. (sigh)
Moogie: I ran my AC all last week, so I hear ya.
Ed: I DID have one for you!
Matt: There's not a better drink on a hot summer's day!
Rob: I alternate between Bombay and Tanqueray. So you're a freezer-guy, too? SN1 keeps his gin in the freezer as well. I don't have enough space in mine to do that...
I gotta vote for Bombay, although Tanq will do in a pinch!
ReplyDeleteBoth beat Gordon's all to hell, don't they? ;-)
