Last night, in Denver...
Chris Osgood becomes only the tenth goalie in the history of the NHL to notch 400 wins. And it couldn't have happened at a better time or in a better place. Yeah, it would have been nice to get #400 at home, but beating the Hated Avalanche in their own barn is ALWAYS sweet. Sweeter yet when it's a milestone game for one of the most under-rated goalies in the league.
On a sports note here England retain the Ashes and booted the Aussies into submission. Big whoop! On a friendly note, apologies for not getting around to wishing you a Happy Christmas Buck. The Big Move made life so busy and then suddenly Christmas is upon us and we're off to France for family etc. Hope you had a great one and Happy New Year to you! Back to blogging and catching up with you as soon as poss. Hope all's well with your family, safe happy and well. x
ReplyDeleteHell of a goalie. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI've always been a sort-of goalie junkie. For one thing, that's the position I played more often than not. But there's something irresistible about rooting for a position where perfection is striven for and sometimes achieved. My all-time fave was probably Gerry Cheevers (loved the scars mask) but I have a soft spot for journeymen such as Dunc Wilson and the like.
Couldn't of happened at a better time! I'm glad it happened against the Avalanche!
ReplyDeleteHey Alison! I understand your plate was full. I look forward to seein' ya back in the 'sphere. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteJim: I think goalie is the toughest position in hockey, coz of that perfection thing you mentioned: it's expected. The truly great goalies are few and far between; I think Ozzie is just short of greatness, a la Roy or Brodeur. He's still good, tho.
Dale: Yep!
