Flagstaff Wildfire In Time-Lapse

h/t: In yesterday's Awl.  I dunno what to think about the music.  It seems strangely inappropriate at first yet grows on ya by the end.  This is yet another example of why I'll never be an artiste.

  1. Buck, I watched this a couple of times. It's beautiful to view but terrible. Reminds me of what Poe used to say about Poetry. Don't quote me on this but it was something like: The most beautiful subject for a poem is the death of a beautiful woman. The beauty is in the mixture of her loveliness and her death. I think he said this about "Annabelle Lee" or maybe "Ulalume" or maybe it was the "Raven." Hell, can't remember. Anyway, you get my drift.

    wv: "samegas." What?

  3. Buck, I've always like the song, and I agree with Dan, the fire is beautiful yet terrible. The song strikes me the same way - several years ago it was a song played at a funeral I attended. I've never quite grasped why it was chosen.

  4. Derrick: Thanks for dropping by.

Staci: The song is new to me, but I DO like it. I've played this vid numerous times just for the soundtrack. It does seem an odd choice for a funeral, tho.
