WTF?

FOUR posts in a single day?  Ah... the things we do when we're stuck indoors in winter...  So.  It's yet another indoor Happy Hour, with an appropriate soundtrack (Da Blooze), another Full Moon (I LIKE this beer, even if it's an ersatz "craft beer," made by mass-brewer Coors.  It's still good.), and a Deep Dish.  Like this:

And we're doing Happy Hour indoors because it's not nice outside and will only get worse as the week progresses.  Witness:

Aiiieee.  Note Thursday's forecast.  I'm NOT adjusting well... at ALL.  But it is what it is.

  2. I disappointed we didn't get that 1-3 inches of snow they were forecasting. My feelings are: if it's going to be cold, there might as well be snow!

  3. Our whole week has looked like Thursday - dark, snow, rain, cold... Yes, I'm whining....

  4. Alison: I did!

Jenny: I'll pass on the snow, thank ya very much. Unless it all melts off by noon, and then I'm OK with it. ;-)

Cynthia: I'd whine were I you, too. It's too early for that stuff.

  5. Yesterday was pretty, in the 50s, bright sunshine -- mmm.

Today is dark, cloudy, supposed to have hard rain later, it's in the 40s and DAMP.

And the fabulous chance of snow this weekend!!

But, Buck, is this your first winter there? I didn't think of New Mexico as being cold like that. (Yeah, I know, Duh, Kath!)
And if you want to go live at the beach, I have a house just sitting there. You have to like quiet and wind, tho, in the winter!!

  6. Kath: No, this isn't my first winter here -- I arrived seven years ago this month for a "one month visit" with SN1 & Co, who was stationed at Cannon AFB (11 miles down the road) at the time. He's long-gone... I'm still here.

NM gets its share of winter, or as much as I wanna see, anyhoo. We get a lil bit o' snow and about a month or so of chilly weather that comes and goes in short bursts. It's not unknown for me to drive around with the top down in December or January when the odd high-60s or low-70s day hits.

Is that beach house on the Left or Right coast? ;-)

  7. That would be on the Right -- as in the correct -- coast, the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. Where you can watch the sun rise over the water every morning and fish all day, should you so desire. Or just walk down the street to the raw bar and have a beer!

  8. The very THOUGHT of a raw bar within walking distance makes my mouth water. I haven't had an oyster in years. Literally. I'm MUCH poorer for it, too.

  9. Ok, well, I won't make you feel any worse by mentioning lemon, hot sauce or horse radish with those fresh, cold raw oysters!! Or things like the catch of the day or anything! Or homemade hush puppies drizzled with honey. :)

Or even the microbrewery down the street -- but you'd have to drive there or take a cab. :)

No, sir, I won't mention any of those things!!

  10. You are a CRUEL woman, Kath, and heartless, too. BTW: LOTSA horseradish.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
