Apropos of Nothing

I mentioned in comments SN1 is in town, bedding the family down before he heads out to Kandahar. We fixed the world for quite a while last evening whilst sitting on the verandah knocking back more than a few barley pops and assorted other adult beverages. Some of last night's remnants:

I'll spare you a view of the empties, Gentle Reader. And yes, I feel fine today.

  1. Those are some big "roaches".

I hope you and the extended family are having a huge breakfast out today.

All the best to the SN1!

  3. So do I have this right? SN1's family will be living in your area while he is gone to Afghanistan? I think that sounds great for everyone - it's always good for family to be there for one another.

And yeah, the remnants show that you had quite a summit meeting discussing world affairs the other night. :)

  4. Darryl sez: Those are some big "roaches".

Heh. THOSE days have long since passed... :D

    And... thanks.

Sam: You WERE here... in spirit. But ya knew that.

Sharon: You got it. My DIL Erma is a war bride, of sorts, having been born and raised in P-Ville. She met and married Buck while he was on his first or second tour at Cannon. Erma's Mom, three of her sisters, and her brother all live in Portales. And me, of course, which is a happy coincidence, if nothing else.

And Hey! OUR "beer summit" was probably a helluva lot more productive... not to mention entertaining... than the recent one held in DeeSee. And we had cigars, too. Lots of 'em. :D

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
