We had a pretty good thunderstorm roll through P-Ville this afternoon and I took a walk outside after it passed. A walk immediately following the rain is a Good Thing anywhere and everywhere, but it's particularly pleasing here on The High Plains of New Mexico given the hot, arid nature of our climate (read as: desert, kinda-sorta). The air is just so clean and sweet-smelling it's incredible, which is a "you hadda be there" kinda thing... most literally. I also played around with the camera a little bit, and here's one such snap:

As always, click for larger. And you just might be viewing tomorrow's post, today. I've been pretty lazy lately.
Beautiful! I especially like the foliage shot...hope everyone clicks it larger - the color and water drops are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHow are you liking that lens?
Both photos are great. A walk in the NM rain sounds great. It has just been humid and sticky here in OK with afternoon thunderboomers.
ReplyDeleteAnn: I'm liking the lens a LOT... but I'm still having focusing issues. Fully half of my shots yesterday were out of focus... and I shot more than a few in aperture-priority mode, stopped down quite a bit (like to f/16). I'm working on ways to overcome that, primarily by taking multiple shots and using the manual focus when I can.
ReplyDeleteLou: I used to do that walking IN the rain thing... but these days I do it after the rain has passed! :D
Buck, have you checked the Auto Focus selection setting? Mine can be reset with a button that is dangerously close to the on/off switch. I normally leave it on the "center" but have found it set to a corner on occasion after having focus problems.
ReplyDeleteAnn: Yeah, I did check that, and I check it often. It's centered.
