Re-Direct

I don't know if any of you Gentle Readers are in the habit of reading Daphne at Jaded Haven. But you should be... for the wisdom in it. Daphne may not be everyone's cuppa, but she sure rings MY bell.

Pun intended.

  1. Wow.
Read the one post, and briefly peeked at one more.

I really like this person's writing. I wish I was half way as coherent and articulate!

Buck, stop by Texas and pick this lady up and bring the both of ewe to visit the Barco. We can go to Lake George and consume libations and discuss.

Like having Sal Paradise and Moriarty stop by with their muses.

    All the best!

  2. Ah... but the lady is happily married. Like it's said... "all the best ones are taken." Or gone. ;-)

  3. They're all taken, mate!

I meant it in a purely meeting of the minds kinda way.

Nothing I love more than having two or three smarter-than-me types (which of course, includes Spousal Unit) sitting on the back of a boat on a humid evening, with rolling topics spicing and bubbling the conversational stew!

Ah... a man after me own heart! I've always preferred hanging with my betters... which, of course, presents a wide field, indeed!

  5. Thanks for linking Daphne - that was a wonderful read.

  6. Loved the language, a bit dark, but not my experience.

hmmm...I'm not taken, although have been partaken of, I'm not "gone" ..I guess that puts me in the "bad" column... YES! - finally...I AM BAD!

  8. Ann,
Go drive to N.M. and start up the Kerouac Caravan. Drag the self named exile out, and pick up the fellow travelers along the way...

Be sure to have C.B. radios, so you can make a convoy.

(I'm projecting my desire to go cruising again, on all you nice readers)

  9. Lou, Gordon, Jim: Daphne IS good, isn't she? I'm glad all y'all agreed.

Ann and I had an offline exchange last evening about her comment, which began with me saying...

Well... there's NO graceful way out of this one! The dangers of generalization, and all that, is a pretty weak rebuttal, innit? But... I was generalizing and to be more specific... invoking an ol' cliché. I should know better.

But... that said, you can be bad if ya wanna be!
(smiley-faced thingie here, which Blogger comments will NOT support)

...and continued for a bit in that general vein. Ann was being facetious, of course, and so was I. We got all that sorted out... communicating via text is hard, sometimes! Especially in comments...

DC: But you DO go cruising... REAL cruising, on the water! OK, maybe not in convoy... ;-)

  10. We do, indeed attempt to cruise.

But it is more fun when in a convoy! That's why you see motorcylists in groups and it is rare to see a loner.

  11. Well, see, that was pretty graceful Buck.

I do apologize (somewhat) for my off topic comment, but I could not resist.

Barco Sin Vella II: I will give some consideration to the convoy thing but the good ship Winnebago is currently undergoing repairs due to horrible pilot error which may scare off any potential convoyees...

  12. Shoot, I've been out the internet loop for too many days, this was a nice surprise. Real life intrudes and this world of words gets ignored.

Thanks masses for the linkage, Buck. You know I love your fine alpha manliness and brilliant sensibilities. If I was free, I'd date your ass quicker than you could blink. But since we both seem to excel at serial monogamy, maybe a solid friendship is the better solution for loving, long term relationship. ;-)

  13. I'm all over partying with Barco, sounds like he knows how to do the job properly. Boats and booze, yeah baby!

Unless said biker is named "Buck." ;-)

Ann sez: Well, see, that was pretty graceful Buck.

Thank you, Gentle Lady! You're too kind! (big ol' grin here)

    swoon!

(Off-stage shout: "Quick... someone get this guy a glass o' water!!")

Seriously... I was pretty good at serial monogamy, though. And serious about it, too! ;-)

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
