Happy New Year!

I wish you and yours love, health, and peace of mind in the coming year.

Let’s hope 2009 is better than 2008.

  1. Happy New Year! Silver and I were at my friend's party and called Designated Driver at 1:45 AM to come pick us up. We were told they'd be there in one hour. THREE hours later, they finally showed up so we just got home (my car was covered in ice, and NOBODY has a scraper in Las Vegas, so we had to wait until the heater could melt it all). I'm very, very tired. And now I'm rambling, sorry. G'night!

  2. Happy New Year Buck! I know that for me, 2009 is going to start out very bumpy but I'm hopeful that in the end, it will be a great year.

I wish you all happiness and prosperity of mind and spirit in 2009!

  3. Happy New Year to you! Here's hoping that 09 is much better than 08!! Just to be sure, we are having black eyed peas and collard greens here today, cooked in some ham hocks (cuz I don't have any hog jowl), and a prime rib I dug out of the freezer.

  4. Jenny, my invitation must have gotten lost in the mail. Surely you wouldn't have forgotten about sharing a meal like that with all of us?

    Happy New Year, All!!!

  5. Christina: I thought Silver was the DD last night? Are/were you "contributing?" ;-)

Glad you made it home safe... and Happy New Year!

Kris: Happy New and PAIN-FREE Year to you!

Michelle: Same to ya! I'm looking forward to MANY more great reads from you in the coming year.

Jenny: Happy New Year! (Even though your comment just MIGHT fall in the "cruel and unusual" category. My mouth's watering...)

Andy: LOL! Happy New Year to you... and see ya the game! 27 minutes and counting...

  7. Silver's learner's permit actually expired on Dec.24. While there's a thirty day grace period to renew it, I'm pretty sure she shouldn't drive around with an expired license! Plus, she was completely exhausted, which is never a good condition to drive in. The funny thing is that I stopped drinking alcohol before midnight (believe me, I'd had enough!), so by the time DD arrived to pick us up at (almost) five AM, I was pretty much sober again. I drank LOTS of water, that always does the trick.

  10. Happy New Year, Buck!

Looks like you're having a fine afternoon with the hockey, hope your team wins.

I wanted to say thank you. For the support you've given to my little blogging effort, the kind and insightful words you've directed my way and the tentative friendship we've made. You were an unexpected gift in 2008 and you made my year a better place.

Best wishes to you in the New Year, Buck.

  11. Susan: Happy New Year to you, too!

Christina: Good thinking on Silver's expired permit... and thanks for the explanation. Kinda ironic about that long wait for DD, eh?

Jenny: Thanks for that!! You may live to regret it... ;-)

Cynthia: Happy New Year to you and yours!

Daphne: What an incredibly nice collection of thoughts! Thank you very much. Finding your blog was one of the better things that happened to me in 2008, ya know.

  14. Hi Buck....

A VERY VERY VERY late Happy New Year! I simply must figure out a way to get back into a normal routine again after these holidays.

Hope 2009 is a good one ... see you at the inauguration.....
