I was both surprised and pleased to see the reappearance, Sharon. A sidebar gone missing doesn't exactly qualify for an Amber Alert, but it IS disconcerting! ;-)
You ever get the feeling this is like some divine message from a muse or a Kismet? Like a clue you should go outside, step away from computers for a couple days or so? Back in the olden days when Blogger would do this wonky nonsense, it would bother the hell out of me that I was being...y'know...bothered. Looking at a beautiful once-in-a-lifetime sunset over the Pacific ocean with a head full of "Blogger didn't save my post...Blogger didn't save my post...Blogger didn't save my post..." And hating myself for it.
Michelle sez: Hmm...maybe it was the Red Wings Poster that did it. You could always change the team to, I dunno, the Penguins would be good...
Hah. Only in your dreams, Michelle. Only in your dreams...
Pat: agreed.
Jenn sez: Mine has never done that trick yet ,but about three times out of five my post will all run together no matter how many times I go back and space it again and save ..I hit post and it's not spaced at all!
I've ranted about this very same thing... a LOT... of late. But Blogger is no longer throwing errors all over God's Green Earth when I cut directly out of Word and paste into Blogger. That's a GOOD Thing.
Cynthia sez: Deep are the mysteries that are Blogger, but having used other platforms, they are all a bit wonky!
And their learning curves are fairly steep from I read, as well. Which is why I'm staying with Blogger. Old dog, new tricks... and so on.
Morgan sez: You ever get the feeling this is like some divine message from a muse or a Kismet?
Well, now that you mention it, yeah. But I interpret the message as some sort of Karmic Retribution for the sins of an IT manager in his past life. Especially now that I don't have a gaggle of techies hanging around to pull my lame ol' ass out of the fire.
But... your point is well-taken. Except for the fact there's no beach near me. ;-)
The mysteries that surround our blogger are easily solved if we shrug our shoulders, throw salt under our left armpit and wiggle only the small toe on the right foot. then all will become clear. And we can shrug and say AFI. Ya'll gotta remember Google is trying out new things with great regularity and we are its lab rats. That's what Chrome is now.
All too true about Google, Cat. I've been using Chrome for about ten days now and there are some things I like about it and some things I don't. It's "on the bubble" right now, as I'm seriously considering going back to Firefox as my default browser.
Further, re Google's problems. They've got pages of problems (and some solutions) available at http://mail.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=known_issues.cs&hl=en
As for FF, for some reason it does not like the configuration (or maybe it's me) of my 'puter. Haven't come across a version that works for me.
HOORAY!!!! THERE IT IS!!!
