I’ve got ten (metaphorical) bucks that sez the average EIP reader won’t make it to the end of this video…
Unabashedly stolen from Lex, who remarks “The creepiness factor is non-trivial.” And that, Gentle Reader, is today’s massive understatement. “Creepy” just doesn’t begin to describe it…
So… in the same vein, sorta… news arrives today that SN3 had a great good time at “Eco-Week” camp, a three day affair in the Colorado Rockies. About which I replied (in part):
Eco-Week? OMG... I'm sure you realize, given my political bent, that this very term is an eye-roller in my circles. I'm hoping against hope that Eco-Week wasn't an indoctrination event, but I strongly suspect it might could be. I don't have a single solitary thing against respecting our environment, conserving it, and living responsibly within it... and I live in that manner. I DO have issues with the secular religion that "environmentalism" has become, as manifested by the Green Party and others... specifically the Algore wing of the Democrat Party. I certainly hope Bobby's Eco-Week wasn't THAT sort of event.
The reply was somewhat reassuring:
Eco week was not political; however, Coloradoans are very aware of the environment and pro good stewardship of the land. Eco-week had classes about the environment, team building exercises, scary stories at the camp fire etc.
As I said: somewhat. And then I went to Lex’s place…
Metaphorically speaking, I owe you ten bucks. Poor kid.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, what is an EIP?
ReplyDeleteLived in Colorado for years, as you may have gathered from my Avs fanhood, and I knew an enormous number of outdoorsy, environment loving people who were perfectly capable of staying well on the tolerable side of eco-fanaticism. Still, the bad guys are out there...
Well, I made it thru the whole thing, but only after becoming violently ill once or twice. Poor kids, parents are a bunch of wackos. LOL!
ReplyDeleteTSMP isn't one of those lefty wackos, is she? If not, Bobby will be ok. Well, and even if she is, he may still be ok. My mother is one of those wackos and look how I turned out (politically, that is).
BTW, where did you get the "22 years" thing on your sidebar? What are all the ribbons for? Hey, you said to ask!
ReplyDeleteOH. My. Lord.
ReplyDeleteThat's the indoctrination of the Obama fans that scares me to death. And, those kids had no idea what they were saying.
Eco-camp in Colorado - methinks your gut reaction is correct.
Obama=Hitler, Mao, Uncle Ho, the Anti Christ or the "Ebony Messiah"? As I said when I sent this vid out to the blog world and my Vietnam Buddies...what the Hell has our generation created?
ReplyDeletePeople{some} are dupes.
I made it to the end, but only because I really needed the (metaphorical) money. :)

"EIP" is shorthand for the blog's name, Andy. And I hear ya about the nuts vs. "real" people. I can only hope SN3's mom is in the latter category...
Jenny sez: TSMP isn't one of those lefty wackos, is she?
Well… I can’t give ya a definitive answer, Jenny, since I don’t know the woman all that well these days. We only talk about one subject in our e-mails (generally): SN3. I DO have my suspicions, tho, in that she fits the profile in a lot of ways: Academic (teaches English at Colo State), working on her PhD, long-time (4+ years) owner of a Honda hybrid, and a self-described “tree-hugger.” Quite the fall, in my eyes, from the good conservative Catholic girl I used to know, LOL!
re: “What are all the ribbons for?”
Left-to-right, top-to-bottom:
Meritorious Service Medal;
Air Force Commendation Medal (I have two);
Air Force Outstanding Unit Award;
Air Force Good Conduct Medal;
National Defense Service Medal;
Air Force Overseas Ribbon - Long Tour;
Air Force Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) Professional Military Education (PME) Graduate Ribbon;
Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.
Now… all that said… My MSM is the military equivalent of the gold watch presented upon retirement in the civilian world; I received my two AF Commendation medals for “real” stuff I did (i.e., specific accomplishments), and the rest of the medals and ribbons were basically for showing up and not f*cking up… except for the small arms expert medal, which I earned.
I got the graphic from Military Signatures… which is a pretty cool organization.
Cynthia sez: Eco-camp in Colorado - methinks your gut reaction is correct.
I think you're right, Cynthia... but I don't have proof.
Pat sez: Obama=Hitler, Mao, Uncle Ho, the Anti Christ or the "Ebony Messiah"?
None of the above, from my POV, Pat. Terribly wrong in his views and misguided at best, but absolutely not in those other guys' league... at all. You diminish the concept of "evil" by lumping in Obama, who is nothing more and nothing LESS than an American politician, with those other guys... who were truly evil. Get a grip.
Amy sez: I made it to the end, but only because I really needed the (metaphorical) money. :)
LOL, Amy! I love your sense of humor, Girl!
I didn't make it to the end because my computer was too slow. That is my story and I am sticking to it.
ReplyDeleteAnd they say religion is not taught in public schools, but we know different.
About 10:00 last night it struck me that the EIP thing was a real bonehead moment in my day yesterday. Thanks for going easy on me.
ReplyDelete30 seconds, Buck, and I was really trying. But, so is that video :-)
ReplyDeleteI have been seeing this video around the net for several days now and I tried ... I really tried ... to watch the whole thing. (Informed citizen and all, ya know...) But I cannot make it for more than a minute. This is just another example of what we will face under a president Obama.
ReplyDeleteDid you know the video has been pulled? A message on the screen says it is no longer available. Guess someone got the message that this was not exactly helping the Messiah get more support.
Lou sez: And they say religion is not taught in public schools, but we know different.
ReplyDeleteYep... we sure DO.
Andy: We're ALL about "easy" here at El Casa Móvil De Pennington!
Jim: "Trying" is way too kind.
Sharon sez: Did you know the video has been pulled? A message on the screen says it is no longer available. Guess someone got the message that this was not exactly helping the Messiah get more support.
Heh. No, I didn't know... but I'm not all that surprised the vid was pulled. But... "barn door" and "horses loose," eh? I find it simply amazing that someone/anyone thought this was a good idea, to begin with.
