Mike Huckabee on Sarah Palin...

About which: This is the best comment I've seen or heard on this subject (the Palin pick) today. This comment from Mark Steyn comes in second:
First, Governor Palin is not merely, as Jay describes her, "all-American", but hyper-American. What other country in the developed world produces beauty queens who hunt caribou and serve up a terrific moose stew? As an immigrant, I'm not saying I came to the United States purely to meet chicks like that, but it was certainly high on my list of priorities. And for the gun-totin' Miss Wasilla then to go on to become Governor while having five kids makes it an even more uniquely American story. Next to her resume, a guy who's done nothing but serve in the phony-baloney job of "community organizer" and write multiple autobiographies looks like just another creepily self-absorbed lifelong member of the full-time political class that infests every advanced democracy.
But I digress. Back to the video: I especially like the way Guv'nor Huckabee beats Alan Colmes with a stick (metaphorically speaking) on MORE than one occasion. Dang. The Other Man From Hope sure has a way with words...

  1. I saw the Mark Steyn column earlier today and I have to say that so far it is the BEST thing I have read yet by any of the conservative pundits. Vintage Mark Steyn - very funny and downright truthful. BRAVO!!!

  2. I especially like Steyn's last comment. That particular meme might be overplayed during the last 48 hours, but it's nonetheless true. In this part of the world, anyway. ;-)

  3. I am enjoying this SO much. The first voice I heard on my radio this morning was Barbara Boxer sounding aghast and terrified. Good.
If McCain were making such a mistake, wouldn't Boxer be delighted? Hmm?

Maybe Iowahawk will write a poem to our Sarah Barracuda at the side of her ancient warrior Crustius. Can't wait!

I'm sure Blog-Bud Morgan took note of Boxer's and your other illustrious female congresscritter's reactions, as well. Aren't the liberal hard-core feminists' reactions oh-so-interesting when a woman not of their tribe makes good or achieves exactly what they've been longing to do? There's a word for that... it begins with "H."

  5. I'm drawing a blank here, Buck. Begins with "H"? Harridan? wHore? Harlot? Help!

Say, did you hear that Mr. Palin's mom is one quarter Yup'ik Eskimo? That explains his dark good looks. My mom's dad was one quarter Chippewa and was mayor of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, for 40 years. Loved the Soo and never wanted to leave it. In his 70's, he built a house where his boy scout troop used to camp on the St. Mary's River, and watched the giant ships pass by until his death at 82.
My mom SO relates to Sarah and so do I.

    I love listening to Huckabee!

Ah... I was too clever by half, eh? I was thinking "hypocrisy."

That's waay cool about your grandfather. I love the Soo, as well, in the summer, but I just couldn't stand the winter weather! They get some SERIOUS snow up that way.

  7. I was too dense by half. Hypocrisy. Of course. That terrible Republican failing.

You know the Soo? Who knew?! But then you know an awful lot of places.

  8. You know the Soo? Who knew?!

My ex-brother-in-law lived in the Soo for a number of years. I first went up that way shortly before TSMP and I married back in '78. I think. But it might have been after we married. Time fades away, and all that. ;-)

  9. Alan Combs got himself into it....claiming the the reason that Palin youngest child may have down was because of her quicky plane trip back to Alaska, and thus she may have been an unfit mother...

The idiot, not knowing what the Hell he was talking about(guess he didn't know DS is a given long before the water breaks, quickly pulled the observative from his web site....but is getting blasted far and wide.

These people{Media Libs} are pure scum.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
