Happy New Year!

I wish y'all the best of all possible years in 2008!

There's no mess to clean up this morning and I awoke with a clear head and a clear conscience...unlike the first morning on (some) New Years past. I hope the same things are true for you today as well, Gentle Reader. Or... in case you ARE in need of strong analgesics today, I hope you have good memories of how you got in this position.

The pics are from the last house party I'll ever throw (I know...never say "never.")... New Year's Eve, 1998. The first two photos are meant to illustrate the mess I had to clean up on the morning of January 1, 1999...but aren't nearly indicative of the real mess. The last shot is a group photo of a small band of merry friends. Needless to say, a good time was had by all!

Perinton, New York.

  1. Happy New Year, Buck! Here's to a sane world in (2007) 2008 (if at all possible, although I doubt it!)

I figured my New Year's greeting to you from last year is still valid. I'm pretty sure it will always be valid. I think that is why we have the saying, "Eat, drink and be merry." Either that or "lay low"...

Actually, I most admire those who stand up and make a difference - like those in our military. You, too, Laurie.

    Anyway, Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you and to your friends and family from me and Patty.

  3. I still have a pounding headache and I didn't even have that much to drink last night, really.

Oh well, guess it's just karma making up for all the times I deserved one and didn't get it.

  4. Aw, that doesn't look like SUCH a big mess. And that looks like a pretty tame crowd.

I had a lovely NYE and I hope you did too. Best wishes for 2008!

  5. Happy New Year Buck!
My house looks worse than that right now... and the party was somewhere else :( but that's what happens with 3 little ones and a mom that's too sick to clean . (from a cold, not indulging)
May 2008 bring you and yours many blessings.

  7. You're just too jolly a fella. The pictures failed to capture the spirit desired. If they say anything, it's that a fun time wuz had by all.

  8. Perinton, NY. Know it well. I was born in Rochester, NY and grew up in Mumford. Had some in-law cousins in Perinton some years back. Great area.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR, BUCK!

  9. Bec: I dunno if I could live in a sane world after all these years of INsanity, LOL! But: point well taken... Happy New Year to you, too!

Abe: Thank you, sir! Happy New Year to Patty and you!

Becky: Happy New year Girl! Here's hoping your Cowboys win one of them Super-Duper Bowl thingies...

Mike: Blogger still have you locked out? I keep checking and I keep seeing the COIN Library post at the top... Hope your head is better today ("no justice, etc.") and Happy New Year!

Phlegmmy: We never take pics of the REAL mess, do we? Unless there's an insurance claim involved... And yeah, we were a pretty sedate bunch of people. That happens when ya get old(er).

    Happy New Year!

TripleE: I was hoping you'd be better by now. Still am. Happy New Year!

Babz! Long time no see, and all that. Of course I know it's a two-way street... Happy New Year!

Morgan: As I told Phlegmmy...no insurance claim, no really bad pics. We DID have fun, as defined by geezers.

Sharon: While I knew you grew up in Ra-cha-cha from previous exchanges, I didn't know you had relatives in Perinton/Fairport. It is a nice area; I enjoyed my stay there immensely. Happy New Year!

  10. Happy New Year Buck....and that did not look like a mess......I'm still cleaning up mine...although it may have something to do with the fact that I got sick!

  11. Hey Buck, Here's the funny part. Our cousins in Perinton loved it there and lived there for many years, but had this dream ~ to move to New Mexico.<~~ (This is something which must run in our family or something.) They left Perinton in the early 90s to move to Santa Fe, where they spent ten years. Now they are in New Hampshire, going to political rallies, meeting presidential candidates.

  12. Thanks Buck. That means a lot coming from you--knowing how much you dislike pro football.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
