Not A Good Day…

…at El Casa Móvil De Pennington. I woke up this morning to significant pain in my mouth…sorta like Hoof and Mouth Disease, with more emphasis on the “mouth” bits and less on the hoof. It wasn’t anything that extra-strength Tylenol couldn’t handle, early on. I called my dentist to see if he could get me in today, but alas, it was not to be. I settled for a 1000 hrs appointment on the morrow, but by 1500 hrs today I was beginning to regret that move. And it’s all on me, Gentle Reader, coz I told my dentist’s receptionist that the pain was manageable.
Well, it was. Until mid-afternoon. At which time I broke out the emergency pain relief, to wit: (expired) Tylenol-3 from a previous adventure in dentistry. That worked. Or maybe it was the three beers taken in conjunction with the Tylenol. Whatever. Suffice to say we’re feeling no pain at the moment.
But it’s not been a nice day. Days spent on the couch in a drug-induced haze just ain’t the best.
Today’s Pic(s): Two views of late-afternoon sunlight filtering through the trees in the empty lot across the way from me, along with a fifth wheel and the Family Solstice parked next to same.
Today. Just now, actually. (As ever, click for larger.)

  3. Totally sucks. At least they can get you in tomorrow.

I had a pretty good trip to the dentist about a month ago. Had a wisdom tooth pulled. The guy on the square did it. Didn't feel a thing, and he's easy on the eyes, too. LOL!

  4. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow...and have some relief soon
Last toothache I had (infected root canal about 15 years ago)...I was only able to rest when I washed down the Tylenol 3 with a couple margaritas, otherwise...nothing.

  5. Thanks for the kind comments, all y'all.

Jenny: By "on the Square," do you mean Dr. Thompson? He's my guy, too. I just had my semi-annual cleaning and check-up last month and had a clean bill of health...so yesterday's (and today's) issue came as sort of a surprise. I feel the same way about my hygienist as you do about The Good Doctor. ;-)

  6. A little codeine and a couple of beers can go along way to break through the pain. However, I wouldn't recommend it for your average camper! How you're feeling better by days end!

  7. I, too, was worried about the codiene/alcohol mix. But hey, as long as you are alive. I hope it all goes well today.

  8. Yup, same one! Ain't it just a small world? LOL! Nope, just small town.

Hubby went to school with two of the hygenists. Flora and Consuelo. Tell them hi for me! LOL! Consuelo's daughter is best friends with one of mine, they are in 3rd grade together.

  9. Flora and Consuelo. Tell them hi for me!

I would...if I saw them. But I don't; I see Victoria. How many hygienists does Dr. Thompson have, anyway?

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
