I'm traveling in some vehicle
I'm sitting in some cafe
A defector from the petty wars
Until love sucks me back that way
—Joni Mitchell from Hejira (the song)
In El Casa Móvil De Pennington. Could be anywhere, but the month is June, 2000. And you can see the road reflected in my glasses... Which, of course, goes on forever (and the party never ends).
I've seen the bottom picture before. I believe it was on a post office wall.:)
ReplyDeleteIn Fort Walton Beach? Damn...I thought I got away clean...
ReplyDelete;-)
Just curious, but was there any mention of a ...uh... goat, by any chance?
ReplyDeleteI forgot about the goat. BTW I haven't forgotten about the article n the motorcycle race, I just don't remember where I put it, yet.
ReplyDeleteWell, I see I've missed quite a few great photos here, having been otherwise occupied for the last week or so.
ReplyDelete"The road goes on forever..."
ReplyDeleteI thought you were quoting the Todd Snider song "Beer Run." I don't know much about Robert Earl Keen. Perhaps a difference in our taste and/or age.
Wanna hear the song "Beer Run?" I have it as a totally legal 48Kbps MP3 live from the Bob and Tom Show.
If so, I'll send it like I did the Tom Bodett thing about Cold War radar.
Sorry 'bout the double post.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny: The exit sign over your left shoulder!
ReplyDeleteFreakin' lawyers.
Reese: "Beer Run" sounds like something I might like! Yes, please: send it along! You don't hear a lot of Robert Earl on the radio these days, not to my knowledge, anyway. RP, of course, being the exception. They play a few of his tunes, "The Road Goes On Forever" being one of 'em. A lot of country artists have covered ol' Robert Earl, including a guy named Lyle Lovett. ;-)
ReplyDeletere: the exit sign and frickin' lawyers: too true, that.
Gee, how did I miss this post? Fantastic pictures. I especially like the first one.
