A large shrimp cocktail…to wit: a dozen shrimp over a bed of “Spring Mix” greens. You can say “weeds,” if you like, and note the label on the cocktail sauce… "Happy Hour," indeed.
Make the salad while a dozen gyoza simmer in the pan after browning…
Move the salad to table, and …
Whip up the dipping sauce for the gyoza.
Transfer gyoza to plate, move to table, uncap a Fat Tire…and… Enjoy!
And there it is, Gentle Reader, the absolute nadir of my blogging career: “What I Had for Dinner.” I can’t believe I just did this…
I, for one, found it fascinating. The "Wow, I can't remember the last time I cooked something" variety of fascinating. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI am not familar with gyoza. Monday,we stopped in Muenster, TX (small German community) to stock up on some excellent German sausage, summer sausage with jalapenos and cheese, couple of steaks, smoked sharp cheddar cheese, and some wine. Those Germans really know their stuff.
ReplyDeleteLaurie: Me, too! Yesterday was kind of an exception...normally dinner comes directly out of the microwave.
ReplyDeleteLou: Everything you need to know about gyoza but were afraid to ask... I do the Japanese version, but the Chinese version(s) are pretty good, too!
Agree on the Germans and food. And BEER! :-)
Now I'm hungry!!
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome!

Is that HEINZ I see on your table Buck? For shame...though my hubby says no other ketchup will do, much to my eternal annoyance.
ReplyDeleteKris sez: ...my hubby says no other ketchup will do...
ReplyDeleteAnd your husband is absolutely, positively correct!
I was eating Heinz products long before Terezza married the family heir and absconded with the money. I claim "grandfathered" status!!
