Ahhh....

It warmed up just enough (~ 40 degrees) where a judicial judicious application of heat from the propane torch on the park’s faucet freed up the ice block. Hooked up the new white water hose and Walla! Water.

Just out of the shower and feelin’ FINE!

It’ll be a long danged time before I forget to set a drip…or pay attention to falling temps. On to the next crisis, James.

  1. Woohoo! Great news! I think you scared all your visitors away due to the lack of shower, but now they can visit again, no worries. LOL!

  3. Amazing what a little water can do for you. The grass and trees and drive-way are still covered in ice here. It has not warmed up enough to melt anything. Main roads are clear, but we are getting ready for the next wave of snow and ice - yeha.

  4. Well, get ready. Flakes are supposed to start about 7pm and they are predicting 6-12 inches (although last time they did that, back in mid-December, we got almost nothing). I'm running into town today for milk, bread, hotdogs and marshmellows just in case.

  5. This is going to sound weird, but send that weather OUR way. New England hasn't seen a snowflake yet - and we've usually had at leat 3-4 serious snowstorms by now. And until this week, it was still in the 60s here; I've lived in New England my entire life and my body is programmed for 20 degrees right now, as a HIGH. It's supposed to snow here tonite - but myself and the ski resorts in these here parts would surely welcome all your bad weather...

I'll be ready by that time. I'm going to go stock up on consumables, too (as soon as the coffee's finished). So...

~~Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!~~

Kris: Laurie, who lives in Rochester NY, has been bemoaning the lack of winter, too. All y'all can have it! :-)

Lou: You guys in OK sure have been getting a lot of coverage on the WX Channel, as have your neighbors to the south. Isn't this about the strangest winter we've ever seen, or is my memory just too short?

  7. Buck, your memory is short-ened ...

    :)

Ya know, kinda like a "dummy load". You remember those, right? :)

(once my wife learned what that is from me, it gets used AGAINST me all the time - kinda like Jim from "What About Jim")

Glad you have your water back! I was just talking to a friend that had this happen to him in "The Hose" (San Jose to those of you not from 'round these parts)! He was blown away that his pipe froze.

    Warm Showers ... mmm ... :)

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
