State of the Union

Tuned in late, so I watched it twice, the last half of the speech in real-time, the first half as a re-run. My impressions? I give Dubya a B-. Strong on foreign policy, average on domestic issues. The President’s pointed reference about Congress “working on earmarks” got my attention, as did the plea for a line-item veto, issued every year since Reagan’s time by presidents of both parties. The “theatre of the absurd” reaction from the Democrats was amusing, mostly sitting on their hands as the Right-side stood and applauded. On occasion several Dems forgot where or who they were and inadvertently stood and applauded when they shouldn’t have. Oops! You’ll be counseled for that in the morning!

Want more? Lori Byrd over at PoliPundit has a good round-up with lots of links to what others are saying.

And Cindy Sheehan got arrested. Word is all the network morning talk shows are fighting for her; I read the “Today” show has her booked (no pun intended). That woman just won’t give up. She was arrested for “demonstrating in the Capitol building,” a misdemeanor. And here’s a hoot of a moonbat reaction to Ms. Wanna-be Martyr’s arrest:
Update 12:07 am: Will Bunch reports via MSNBC that Cindy's t-shirt said "2,245 Dead - How Many More??" "Did you know that in 1971, the Supreme Court said it was unconstitutional to arrest a man who wore a "F--- the Draft" T-shirt into the courthouse? (Cohen v. California, you can look it up.) So now Alito's on the court for 45 minutes and your civil liberties are already going down the toilet. You were warned. Somebody at Daily Kos suggested that every American who's appalled by what happened tonight should -- on the same day -- wear a T-shirt that reads "2,245 Dead -- How Many More?? to work, school, church, court (by day's end, perhaps) or wherever we need to be. It's our right, after all. We're in. Maybe someone can use the T-shirt proceeds to buy some body armor for the troops." (ed: emphasis mine)
Yep, Alito tipped off the cops. Frickin’ rat-fink.

  1. If you get any moonbat readers who want to contribute to something useful, they can chip in on armor blankets to help protect the soldiers from IEDs here.

Non moonbats are also welcome to contribute. But since you issued the challenge I thought I'd direct them to someplace they can help make a difference.
