"Worth Passing On"

So saith Occasional Reader Rob as his tag-line addition to this e-mail he received from a friend:
To All My Liberal Friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2011, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To All My Conservative Friends:
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Life's inherent simplicity: one of the great things about being "of the right."

  1. I've got that "Ice Cold Conservative" tee shirt. Just absolutely love the looks I get when I wear it...accompanied with my big ole shit eating grin.

Almost as good as my “I (heart) Halliburton” shirt or my Berkeley, CA USMC officer recruit office one. That back is totally you, Buck -

  3. tim: I've mentioned this before (a lot, I think), but one of my VERY favorite past-times when I lived in Berserkeley was to put on one of my military tee shirts and take the short walk up Telegraph to the coffee shops on Sunday morning. My two favorites were the ol' stand-by... "Peace Through Superior Firepower"... and my other BUFF shirt, the one with an in-flight, nose on view of a '52 with a full load of ordnance under the wings, and the legend "Big Ugly Fat Fucker!"

Talk about pissing the hippies off... ;-)

    Dale: Thanks!

  5. You haven't lived until you've worn an anti-Hillary tee shirt into Starbuck's. New Paltz, NY. Even now, my gf is heading down here to abduct me & take me to Petaluma for the holiday & weekend...and there's a "WORST PRESIDENT EVER" tee shirt in the luggage for my morning run.

Have a wonderful Christmas, my friend. As in Christ-mas...birth of Christ, the Savior. As in Redeemer of Mankind, Lamb of God. Anyone gets agitated about that, just jolly well can.

But I hope they have a Merry Christmas too. See ya next week.

  9. I don't surround myself with extremists of any kind. But to say I dislike, or am disliked because something so simple as political affiliation is a stretch. I trust my life to *gasp* a creationist, and it is reciprocated. You have some idea of the military, you should know how silly you comment is.

  10. You have some idea of the military...

Heh. There's my understatement for the day. Don't you have somewhere to be, Alex? Like Kos' place or something like it?

Ya know what, Alex? You're being SUCH a frickin' twit on Christmas Eve. But, Hey. Whatever floats yer lil insignificant boat. It's been real, but not real fun. Thanks for dropping by.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
